A Quick Guide To Moving To Austin
By Jonathan Frank

If your considering a move to Texas, you have to take a closer at Austin, TX. Austin has always been a popular choice for people starting a new company and even for people looking for a great vacation spot. Austin is well known for it's night life. The live music scene is unbelievable and the diverse culture is amazing. Even with so many social activities going on the residents here take pride in making their workouts social. You can join a jogging group or a bike riding group.

Once you find an apartment you like, try to imagine what your day to day life would be like there. Look for the quality of maintenance, appearance, and staff. The on site staff will tell you a lot about the apartment community. Just by paying attention to these little details will greatly affect your satisfaction in your apartment and life in Austin.

Most leases in Austin will be 6 or 12 month leases. Usually the prices are cheaper

for 12 month leases. You can also expect to pay a pet deposit if you have a pet. A lot of communities are starting to charge pet rent too! It's usually about $10-$20. Another common charge is the administration fee. This is the random charge that we don't know where it goes but most communities have it.

So we know you are interested in moving to Austin. Now you need to find a place. A great place to do this is with an online apartment search site. There are some sites that will allow you to search apartments in Austin by almost any criteria you need. A good search site will also have a great staff that is very friendly and can point you in the right direction. Also, make sure you try to stay close to you new job because traffic in Austin can be really bad. That's really the only negative I can think of.

Once you get settled in here you can start to enjoy the life. You have to get familiar with the downtown night life. Many people have heard about 6th street, but there is so much more outside of that. There are some of the greatest bars and clubs in the downtown area. Of course when you move here you will have to convert yourself into a Longhorn fan! Football season always brings in some great festivities. Don't forget about Austin City Limits Festival and the many other activities along Town Lake. I could go on and on.

When you get to Austin you will see what all the talk is about. Austin is such a friendly city and it's a lot more laid back than any other place I have been. Just invest a little time to search for the right apartment and find a great job, then enjoy the new life that Austin has to offer.
